In the January 2023 VODI Report:
New demand for office space declined 20.7 percent year-over-year from 58 in December 2021 to 46 in December 2022.
Economic uncertainty loomed large in 2022, weakening tenants’ resolve and cooling the office market.
While remote work in America remains well above pre-pandemic levels, its prevalence is declining, and that trend is likely to contribute to an increase in office demand in years to come.
